"To build a User Profile from information obtained from multiple sources, it may be necessary to associate (or link) information about an individual with information about the same individual from other sources. To facilitate that linking, a publisher or developer may sometimes provide PII to Nexage during the ad-request process. Once this association or link has been made, Nexage adds NPII to the existing User Profile and destroys the PII so that the PII can no longer be used by Nexage or anyone else to identify a specific person. Nexage allows publishers and developers to have the User Profile data, which does not include PII, added to their impressions for enhanced targeting by demand sources. Nexage requires participating publishers and developers to disclose in their privacy policies that they contribute user information for Nexage User Profiles."
